Update from our OC Transpo public consultation

On June 6, 2017, I hosted the East of the Rideau Transit Forum at the Richelieu-Vanier Community Centre, in collaboration with Councillor Nussbaum and OC Transpo staff. The purpose of the meeting was to review and obtain your feedback on the planned changes to the bus route network that will be made to get ready for the opening of the O-Train Confederation Line in 2018. There was an excellent turnout at the June meeting, and I wanted to thank everyone who attended and provided their feedback through the table discussions and survey. I’d also like to thank those who have corresponded with my office directly to provide comments on the exciting changes ahead as we get ready for rail. The feedback that we’ve received so far has been generally positive, with a few areas of improvement that we are reviewing further.

To ensure an excellent customer experience for residents in our community in 2018, I have asked OC Transpo to review your specific suggestions on the 2018 plan, as listed above. I will be working closely with OC Transpo in the next few months to finalize the 2018 plan for our community, based on your comments. Stay tuned to my website for a second update this fall, which will provide OC Transpo’s assessment of your suggested improvements to the plan.
