Try out the Rideau River Trail

Join our team and Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward to celebrate the grooming of a winter trail along the Rideau River! You can hop on the Rideau River eastern pathway anywhere between the Hurdman Bridge and Montreal Road to try out this pilot run of a pressed-snow trail that can be used for snowshoeing, skate-skiing, fatbiking and more!

We’ll be by the Adàwe Crossing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to offer light refreshments and chat with residents about their thoughts on opening up this trail more regularly in the winter months in the future.

You can also participate in a wide range of free activities at the nearby Rideau Sports Centre (1 Donald St.) thanks to their Open House weekend! Check the RSC’s Facebook page for more details about the offerings.

Please note the trail will not be groomed with classic cross-country skiing tracks for this pilot run.
